As of the end of December this review has been the sights most popular!  Their is a lot of interest in this great amp.
I played a Victoria tweed 5E3 clone in a music store a few weeks ago and I swear it had nothing on Jim's incredible amp. It sounded much thinner without the bloom and fullness.  I also heard one of the Fender 5E3 custom shop reissue Deluxes and it sounded about the same as the Victoria amp.   Which is nowhere near the tone of the Lil Dawg.   The Lil Dawg amps are one of those special things that come along just ever so often.

I have pictures (tons) Jim took of the building process.   One day I will incorporate them into the webpage writeup.

I've got one of the Li'l Dawg D-Lux amps and it sounds great!
Mine is the 25watt version with 2-10"s.
I have 6L6s installed for more headroom, and while it *does* offer more than a regular 5E3, I still need a little more headroom.I wish he made a Twin or Dual Professional copy. Wink

Everything about the review is spot-on, these things sound fantastic.....even better than Fender's Re-issue Deluxe, IMO, which makes it a bargin especially when you look at Fender's $1800 price tag.
Really, you can't touch this sound with this kind of price range.

I had a chance to check out the Fender Custom Shop 5E3.  I did not sound anything like a real vintage model and the
Lil Dawg D-Lux blew it's doors off.  It did not have the full sound or the soul of the Lil Dawg.  I also played through a Victoria clone and it was about the same as the Fender CS 5E3.  Just now where near the Lil Dawg.

I think the perfect D-Lux would be a 2x12 model.  I just have the 1x12 and it's really all I need but I really think that amp would really shine as a 2x12.

Jim does make  a tweed baseman clone, so that may be your ticket to getting more headroom.  I have never heard but I wouldn't have any problem with laying money down on something Jim is building.
